Taking this class- CSIT 155 - I was able to learn a wide array of online tools and online marketing techniques. I knew that at this day and age, technology is booming and expanding at an incredible rate and that most of the advertising should be used online. That is why at the start of this semester, I was eager to learn what this class will offer. Another main reason for attending this class - even though my participation during this semester has been rocky - was to learn what social media outlets I should use when I start the business (that I have been working on this semester) sometime in the next few years.
I was grateful to learn everything this semester. All the information, tools and advice will benefit me in my life. Prior to this class, I knew some knowledge of social media, as my main social media at the time were Facebook and Instagram. Fast forward to now, I was able to create my own pages in most of the online media site's today. I was able to learn how to start up the account, how to effectively create pages and how to effectively get involved with my audience - methods to gain attention and feedback to my company.
Once again, this class is one of the most beneficial class I've taken in the last two years in Miracosta. I have learned and been exposed to a lot of social medias that I know will help me out in the future. Not only can I use this knowledge myself, I can help friends and families of the things I learned in this class if they also need help with social media sites.
Thank you Claudia Faulk and Tracy Petrucci for this semester even though my participation in this class was not so satisfactory. Nonetheless, I appreciate your time and help during the course of this semester and for my fellow classmates- It was a pleasure looking at your pages and learning more about you and your business.

Marketing online strategy
Considering
the variables from recent lectures, decide which tools from the
semester you would implement in your online marketing strategy. How much
time do you think your business should spend on social media marketing
and why? In your blog, please explain why you chose the tools you did,
and how you might use them to use and test a strategy over the next six
months. Plot out a rough draft plan of the next month of content across
the sites you’ve chosen, and how you hope they might grow or sustain
your business. Be as detailed as possible, including daily or weekly
time requirements to meet the goals.
In reality, this business that I have created throughout this semester is my future business. This class has helped me jumpstart this business from nothing. Planning and creating a schedule today from this class is benefiting me from my future business as it is helping me be more knowledgeable of all my resources and help that is offered online and in schooling.
My overall plans of when I do create this business is promote promote promote. I want to help get my business known and heard to the vast audiences. I believe that the more people know about my restaurant, the more revenue i'lll get through referral from customers to their friends. Advertising is big especially in this day and age where mostly everyone is connected to the web and social medias.
Upon starting the business, i plan on promoting it through facebook and using advertisements there and also using the service "Groupon" and making coupons for discounts. I know that for the first few months or maybe years that it will be a rough time but by building an audience up will help increase sales. I plan on being up to date on the social medias( the social medias that i have created throughout this class will be the one Im using through the life of my business. I plan on posting about my business and informing my followers/audience of my business and service.
Upon reading the lecture and the variables of my strategy, the size of the business will correspond to how much manpower im using. I plan on only me doing all the promotions and ideas for advertisement. Until later on when the company gets bigger, that is where i will need help and possibly hire help solely for advertisting and helping my business grow in the online world. Additional marketing tools
The four additional marketing tools that I would use are
Linkedin- I would use this marketing tool to stay connected with my business partners. I can create a group of business partners where I can call them for whatever problems I need.
Yelp- Constructive Feedback is what I think will help my business grow. While this site takes reviews and offer their experience and feedback, I can learn from their feedback and become better. Also this can help customers more information on my business.
Groupon - I want to promote my business on the beginning phase. I want to promote great deals and post on this website in hopes to generate more customers, more revenue and overall more popularity through people networks.

Newsletter
I think a monthly newsletter would be perfect for my Restaurant business. With each month goes by, I can update my subscribers whats new and offer them deals and discounts to my food. Also newsletter would be helpful to help promote an entree or even a new entree in the restaurant. I would include enticing delicious pictures of the food I'm offering to help persuade the customers to come in. I can include other information that my audience my read, like restaurant bio and history, lifestyles of the workers and the managers as well, if an award is won for the restaurant, I would flaunt it in the newspaper and use it to tell my customers why they should go to my restaurant instead (competition).

In my blog, I would make 2 categories, "Adventures" "Life encounters/stories"
I like to travel around and sight seeing new places and do new things, Im an adventurer, In this category I will talk about my adventure and my experiences during my adventures. I also love taking pictures so I would attach the best pictures along with my posts. This will keep my audience wanting to learn more of me and would enjoy reading my posts and coming back for more.
Aside of my adventures, I would just write out crazy encounters or experiences that I may think that is worth sharing. These will go to my "Life encounters/stories" Category.

The Visual Network
The visual networks - are they right for you and your brand? Compare the 4 most widely used visual platforms. Which would work the best for your product or service?
Youtube: Using this network can help me promote my business through ads. Other than advertising, I don't think it would be useful for my business.
Instagram: Possible usage for this network is just showcasing the entrees that my restaurant can offer. My customer can "check in" when they visit my restaurants which will expose my restaurant to more people thus increasing popularity and revenue.

Twitter Follow Business
-Which search words you used to find your connections? Did you have
to play around with more than one key term to start seeing the right

The key words that I used was just the word "Restaurant"
With this search, I was able to find many Restaurant type businesses as well as magazine company. I didn't have to play around with the words because restaurant is a straight forward word. I was able to find pages upon pages of businesses. There was 3 major business type pages - News, Success tips, other business pages.

I followed about 8 in total and made 2 list's: Businesses news and Businesses success.

Facebook Business - Picked Likes
I chose Dominos, Rubios, Chili's and Panda Express as my featured likes.
Since my restaurant is based on 4 different style cuisine - Italian, Mexican, American and Chinese; I featured restaurants with this kind of background since they relate. I'm aiming to make these featured likes so that it portrays my restaurant as the same as these top restaurants. These pages also gives me an idea of how I should setup my own facebook page.

Post reach and Post Engagement
In Facebook, every post would be considered a Post Reach. Post reach in summation, is what an audience/viewer see or can be potentially seen from the business. So whatever posts or any activity the Facebook business page does is a post reach. After a post reach is a post engagement; post engagement is any type of interaction in the post by the business (ex. Shares, likes, comments). When a viewer interacts with the post, it can be seen in that viewer's new feed. This helps expose the business's post to a wider set of audience. This is how anything in the internet becomes viral.
Insight is a great tool to use as it provide an analytic view of how viewers/people are reaching to your posts whether it be post reach or post engagement.

A. Communicating with a business can be hard. First of all, there are many other people trying to contact the company at the same time. Personally, I have never tried to contact any company in particular. In my opinion, it would be difficult to communicate with businesses because of the amount of request. But nonetheless, it is possible with patience and persistence.
Using social media in a business would help the company gain instant feedback through their posts (i.e Facebook). Through posts, the company can ask their friends/fans/followers of their opinions which can improve the business.

Social Medias
Which social media platforms seem geared towards personal use and which ones seem to work better for business.
Social media platforms that are geared toward personal use are facebook, tumblr, twitter, pintrest and many more. These social media types helps a person express their feelings and mood which reflects them. Others like pintrest and instagram are some that reflects people's interest and tell a story of their life.
For businesses, linkedin are, in my opinion, are the best to communicate with others within the business. This is because users can create virtual meetings which would be more convenient than traveling or in the situation where users are from different side of the world. Skype is also an equivalent. Facebook, can be a social media only depending on what the profile posts, like advertisement or to inform their followers of their product.

About me
Hello!
My name is Paul Dal. I'm new to blogging and this would be my first blog site. I'm not much of a blogger since I prefer life interactions and conversations to others. I used to be into my social medias a lot a couple years ago (facebook, tumblr, instagram) but then I decided to change to limit my use so I can focus on my true self and not posting things that would make other people judge me.
Reason why I chose this template over the others is because I wanted to try something different. I originally went for simple, showing I'm a simple guy, nothing too fancy and that I wanted to be straight forward with my stuff without adding a design that may lose focus of my post. I thought about it for a minute and decided that I wanted to do something different by picking this template. I also figured that I can also change it if I ended up changing my mind.
A little information about me is that I go to Miracosta Community College. It is my 2nd year attending there now. I was born in Phillippines in '93 and moved to Oceanside when i was 5 and now currently living at the same home ever since. I'm an outdoor type of guy who loves to go out and go on adventures hiking and exploring new places. My favorite activity is skateboarding which I have been doing for 10 years now.
